A Message From Presidential Candidate Mikel James

Greetings,

It is with joy that I announce my candidacy for the office of President for the 11th District YPD. The hymnologist wrote, “To serve the present age, my calling to fulfill. Oh, may it all my powers engage to do my Master’s will.”
This speaks of the primary reason why I seek this office. This organization has richly blessed my life and has taken me places that I only would have dreamed. I would like for those same blessings to be inherited by those who come behind us.

I bring to you many years of dedicated membership to this organization; of those years, I served as a Local President, Area Worship Director, Area 1st Vice-President, Area President, Conference 1st Vice President, and Episcopal Parliamentarian. Currently, I serve as Episcopal 2nd Vice-President. With my broad scope of experience, I understand the needs of youth from both the urban and rural areas.
I am looking to join our fellow YPDers to enhance our spirituality across the district. I believe that understanding who we are spiritually is vital to our growth and development; however, its understanding who created us has greater significance on our lives.
I would also like to tackle relevant issues that you, as YPD’ers, encounter. I want to help you understand how to cope and deal with those issues when they arrive. Moreover, I would like to continue to reach out in mission across district.

I can assure you that if I am elected to this office, I will do all in my God-given power to enhance, embrace and strengthen our focus on God and one another.

Remember we are "Using the Past, to Equip the Future "

Yours in Service,

Mikel J. James
Candidate for
11th District YPD President
